What's In Season: Fresh Produce at Fall Markets
Other than the difficulty of forecasting our first frost date, the fall produce season is the most predictable of our market seasons. Apples, yes! Hard squash, yes! Cabbage, potatoes and onions, yes, yes and yes! Some of our favorite summer items, like tomatoes and watermelons, overlap into early fall as well. Just remember to snag, when you see them, the last of those tender summer veggies that don’t make it past first frost. Like basil. Pesto for the freezer, anyone?
