- 1/2 teaspoon whole allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon star anise
- 1 cinnamon stick, crushed
- 1 teaspoon orange peel
- 1 teaspoon crystal ginger
Instructions
Spices are best if lightly toasted ahead of time to bring out their flavors. Fill a ball-type tea strainer or muslin tea bag with the spice mix.
Heat cider until warm, not hot. Steep spices for 1 minute in an individual cup of warm Smitten or 10 minutes in a full growler (half gallon).
Your bag of spices can be reused to make many cups of cider.
